Leveau, Strickland Lead Fourth Place Finish at Atlantic Invitational

BOYNTON BEACH, FLA, -- Kelly Strickland and Mahina Leveau led the Georgia State women's golf team to a tie for fourth place in the Atlantic Invitational in Boynton Beach, Fla.

In their first tournament of the spring, the Panthers shot 3-over par 287 in Tuesday's final round at the 5,840-yard, Par 71 West Course at Indian Spring Country Club. Georgia State finished the 54-hole vent at 8-over 860. Winner Florida Gulf Coast was the only team to break par at 5-under. Troy (+2) finished second, followed by third-place Florida Atlantic (+7), just one stroke ahead of Georgia State and Northern Illinois.

Strickland and Leveau tied for 12th place with an even-par 213. Leveau, a junior from Beauvais, France, shot par each round, while Strickland, the senior from Alpharetta, shot 71-70-72.

Ari Acuff was the third Panther in the Top 20 with a 2-over score of 215, tied for 19th.

Georgia State will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Tchefuncta Invitational, hosted by South Alabama.
