Men's Tennis Returns to Action in Atlanta

ATLANTA— Georgia State men's tennis returns to action in Atlanta this weekend and is slated for a pair of matches facing cross-town opponent Georgia Tech at Ken Byers Tennis Complex, followed by Furman for the team's home opener. First-year head coach James Wilson enters his second weekend of competition coaching for the Panthers as the team looks to rebound after dropping its season-opening matches on the road in Florida.

After a tightly contested outing against Stetson saw the Panthers fall short of victory in DeLand on Friday, Jan. 20 to open 2023, GSU traveled to Tampa to face USF the following Sunday and posted a second loss on the year falling to 0-2.

Moving ahead in spring 2023 competition, the Panthers will rematch Georgia Tech after battling the Yellow Jackets to open 2022 a year prior. Despite pushing the heavily favored Jackets to the brink in last year's meeting, GSU was unable to secure the win and came up short in a narrow 4-3 decision.

The match against the Yellow Jackets will take place on Friday, Feb. 3 and will be held at Ken Byers Tennis Complex in Atlanta, Ga. at 5 p.m. ET. Information on live stats will be posted on the web via the team's schedule page and on social media.

GSU will see action again on Sunday, Feb. 5 as the team opens at home hosting Furman. The match will be contested at the GSU Clarkston Courts at 2 p.m. ET with live stats available for fans.
