Atlamtis and Attrill Earn Sun Belt Duo of the Week Honors

ATLANTA, GA – Georgia State Men's Tennis saw its second award-winning week of the season, as the second-line duo of Cem Atlamis and Arthur Attrill was named Sun Belt Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week on Wednesday morning. The pair went 3-0 in three contests over a roadtrip to the Carolinas, knocking off opponents from UNC Wilmington, James Madison and Coastal Carolina.

Atlamis and Attrill got the ball rolling on Friday afternoon, when their 6-3 win over UNC Wilmington's William Dean and Lukas Stefan secured the opening point in favor of the Panthers. Georgia State would go on to win the match by a final score of 4-2.

On Saturday morning, the duo suited up to take on conference opponent James Madison in a neutral site matchup at Coastal Carolina. Atlamis and Attrill were pushed to the limit by the second-line duo from JMU, but survived the scare with a 7-5 win to improve to 2-0 on the weekend.

The duo closed out the weekend with their closest contest of the trip. Coastal Carolina's Rivers Cahill and Jack Dixon knotted the score at 6-6, but it was Atlamis and Attrill taking a 7-2 tiebreaker to secure the 7-6 win and the weekend sweep on court number two.

The Team of the Week nod is the first for Atlamis since joining the Panthers. The freshman Attrill earned Team of the Week honors earlier in the season when paired with Gabriele Datei
