Box Score ROME, GA – Georgia State Men's Tennis entered the Sun Belt Conference tournament in search of their first conference victory, but came away empty-handed after suffering a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Coastal Carolina in the opening game of the postseason on Thursday morning.
The Panthers started off strong as
Cem Atlamis and
Arthur Attrill – just over a week removed from being named SBC Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week – topped Coastal Carolina's Rivers Cahill and Jack Dixon on doubles court number two. The Chanticleers bounced back with a win on court one, making court three the deciding result. Georgia State's
Gustav Andersson and
Sota Minami battled to secure the point, but could not take the court from Coastal, falling 5-7 in the tiebreaker.
Andersson and
Aleksandar Andrin both did their part in singles play, taking one of the first two sets to force a third. They would not get a chance to finish their games, however, as the Chanticleers closed out the match with straight set victories on courts one two and five.
