ATLANTA, Ga- Emily Buck (7-5) pitched a complete four hit shutout to help Georgia State win at home in game one against UL Monroe (3-0).
Buck took an inning to warm up as she walked one and gave up three hits in the first inning. Bases were loaded but defense helped her out with a double play at home plate and first base. Buck only gave up one more hit in the third and that was it for ULM. Buck finished the game with a win only giving up four hits, one walk and three strikeouts.Â
Jackie Gonzalez hit her first homerun of the season. It was a three run homerun and led the Panthers to the win. She was also excellent on the field as she as she moved swiftly to the ball to throw challenging outs.
Panthers will be back on the diamond tomorrow for game two of the series. First pitch is at 1 pm. Get there early as the Panthers will be recognizing four senior student- athletes in a pregame ceremony.Â
