TROY, ALA. - Bailee Richardson and Chloe Middlebrooks got the Panthers started in 4-2 loss to the Trojans in the second game of the series at the Troy Softball Complex.
The Panthers (12-19, 3-5 Sun Belt) got on the board first in the top of the first when Middlebrooks stole second base and then advanced home on a hard hit to shortstop from Richardson. Georgia State managed to score 2 runs, by Middlebrooks and Gabby Benson, despite only having one hit. Richardson improves to 27 RBIs on the season. Middlebrooks is now 12 for 12 in stolen bases.Â
Pitcher Emily Hodnett entered in the second inning, relieving pitcher Sophie Mooney, managing 3 strikeouts and only allowed 1 run with 3 walks on the game.Â
The Panthers will face Troy one more time in the weekend series tomorrow, live on ESPN+ starting at 2 p.m. ET.
