With an impressive freshman season Chavez led the lady Pirates in runs scored (27), stolen bases (13), batting avg. (.352), and on-base pct. (471) and was second in slugging pct. (.574)… She was third on the team in hits (19) and tied for fourth in RBI (12)… Had four multiple hit games and four multiple RBI games… Had a nine-game hitting streak… Reached base 16 times in 19 games… Was 3- for- 3 with three runs scored, two RBI, and one stolen base against George Washington February 15… Went 2- for- 2 with three runs scored, against Delaware State February 28…was 2- for- 3 with two runs scored, two RBI’s, and one home run against Morehead State March 1…was named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week (Feb. 28 – Mar. 1).
