JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Looking for its first win of the season, the Georgia State women's golf team will enter the final round of the GSU Invitational just three strokes off the lead when play concludes on Tuesday morning with Round 3 at Rivermont Golf Club in Johns Creek, Ga.
The Panthers shot rounds of 304 and 302 on Monday to sit at 30-over par, alone in second place, and just three strokes back of first place Eastern Kentucky.
Senior Emma Berlin, who has yet to finish outside the top 25 this spring, is tied for third place at 3-over par following rounds of 72 and 75. Sophomore Mahina Leveau, who shot a 67 in the event last year, followed a tough opening round 81 with a 1-under par 71 and is in a tie for 16th place at 8-over par.
Berlin is one of three golfers just one stroke back of 36-hole leaders Ragga Kristindottir of Eastern Kentucky and Lauren Thompson of Lipscomb.
