Men's Tennis Travels for Conference Matchups with UT Arlington, Louisiana

ATLANTA- Entering the weekend having won its first two conference outings at home, the Georgia State men's tennis team travels on the road for matchups against Sun Belt foes UT Arlington and No. 47 Louisiana. The Panthers are currently second place in the conference at 10-6 as the team nears the Sun Belt Conference Championships beginning April 15.

GSU saw victory over Troy, 4-3, and South Alabama in a sweep, 4-0, as fifth year senior Andrei Duarte finished the weekend unbeaten in No.1 singles and doubles and earned yet another Sun Belt Player of the Week nomination. Duarte also received Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week honors following the performance over the weekend.

The roster's strong suit thus far in the spring has been finding the ability to adjust to circumstances across all positions while maintaining its confidence and energy when competing. Effort and intensity remains a constant amongst the Panthers' unit even as injuries and necessary shifts in lineups have affected the team and its consistent rhythm.

Regardless of the adversity, GSU prepares to face this week's conference opponents in a position to make another run at a SBC title. Having come up short in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament finals last spring, knocking off the defending conference champions in South Alabama in the previous weekend's regular season outing serves as a boost in momentum for the Panthers.

The Panthers will face UT Arlington on Friday, March 25 at 2 p.m. ET at UTA Tennis Center. The team will turnaround to face Louisiana on Sunday, March 27 at noon ET at Cajun Courts in Lafayette, La. No. 47 Louisiana currently sits atop the Sun Belt with a 15-2 record.

Information regarding live scoring for each match will be posted on the team's social media accounts leading up to the weekend doubleheader. Follow the Georgia State men's tennis team on Twitter and Instagram (@GSUMTennis) for the latest news and updates throughout the season.
