Berlin and Leveau Top 10 for Panthers at First Coast Classic After 36 Holes

JACKSONVILLE – Georgia State senior Emma Berlin and sophomore Mahina Leveau both stand among the top 10 following two rounds of the First Coast Classic at Deerwood Country Club.

Berlin led the Panthers with a morning round 73, while Leveau shot a 1-under par 71 in the afternoon as the duo are tied for ninth place at 6-over par. Berlin is coming off her first-ever top five finish just a week ago in Panama City Beach.

Georgia State sits in eighth place following rounds of 317 and 309, however the Panthers are just six strokes out of fifth place.

"Today was filled with highs and lows, but the course played tough for everyone, and we're only six shots out of fifth so we're keeping our eye on that tomorrow," head coach Jessica Steward said. "Emma started the day out strong for us and Mahina made a great comeback for us in the afternoon."
The Panthers are looking for a fourth-straight top five finish dating back to the fall.

Western Kentucky leads the field by one stroke at 16-over par, while Arkansas State's Olivia Schmidt, ranked No. 91 in the country, leads all individuals at 7-under par, good enough for a four-stroke lead.
