Women’s Tennis to Open Season on the Road in Florida

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Georgia State women's tennis travels to Fort Myers, Fla. this weekend for a trio of road meetings at FGCU Tennis Complex to open the spring 2022 season.

The Panthers are set to face Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 9 a.m. ET, followed by matchups against FAU on Sunday, Jan. 16 at 12 p.m. ET as well as Middle Tennessee on Monday, Jan. 17 at 8 a.m. ET to conclude the three-day road trip.

The weekend marks head coach Hannah Keeling's first spring with the team, as the Panthers look to continue moving in the right direction following a fall season that showed promising growth and competitive performances against some of the top players in the nation.

"I am very excited to begin our season this weekend in Florida," Keeling said. "We will have three valuable matches against strong teams to kick off our season. I have no doubt this team is ready to get back out to compete and begin our quest for a successful season."

Among those returning is senior Andreea Stanescu who was named All-Sun Belt Second Team in singles following the spring 2021 season. While partnering with senior teammate Eva Chivu in the top position in doubles, the duo bested the No. 26 pair in the country from Florida.
