ATLANTA – Led by a pair of goals from two newcomers playing in just their second collegiate matches, the Georgia State men's soccer team topped Presbyterian College 2-1 in exhibition play on Wednesday night.
After an offsides call negated a Georgia State goal in the 35th minute, graduate student Iolo Jones found the back of the net off an assist from freshman Bryan Silva to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
The Panthers pushed the lead to 2-0 following a goal by freshman Ethan Sassine in the 60th minute.
The Blue Hose cut the deficit in half on a goal by senior midfielder Pedro Crespo in the 73rd minute but would get no closer as the Panthers improved to 1-0-1 in exhibition play this year.
