Softball Returns to Sun Belt Play; Hosts Coastal Carolina for Three Games

ATLANTA -- Georgia State hosts a three-game series vs. Coastal Carolina this weekend beginning with a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m.

The series between GSU and CCU is tied at 5-5 since 2014 with the Chanticleers taking the last three contests after the Panthers won the previous four. 

GSU is coming off a 4-1 loss to Auburn at home on Wednesday. Sophie Mooney went the distance allowing three earned and Skylar Mosel hit her sixth home run of the season. 

Daisy Hess and Bailee Richardson continue to lead the GSU offense. Hess ranks third in the Sun Belt with nearly an RBI per game and is fourth in the conference with 74 total bases on the season. Richardson ranks second on the team in batting at .337 while Hess has the top average on the squad at .365.

Admission to the Bob Heck Softball Complex is free. Georgia State Athletics asks that visitors adhere to Covid-19 safety protocols as directed by the CDC and the Sun Belt Conference including wearing a mask and social distancing.
