GSU (2-18) enters the tournament behind wins over College of Charleston and Charleston Southern. The Panthers have not found a Sun Belt win during the 2021 campaign, but the squad has only faced teams on the East side of the conference.
Georgia State will face ULM for the first time this season. The Warhawks hold a 10-5 overall record, including a 4-4 performance in SBC action. ULM enters the tournament having won four of their last five contests.
Junior Andreea Stanescu has led the charge for the Panthers this season. The Romania native has registered eight singles victories, splitting times in lines one, two, three, and four. Angel Carney has also added to Georgia State's production with four wins in singles action.
In doubles play Stanescu has partnered with freshman Ellie Aldrich in positions one and two. The pair have found eight victories. While Carney has found success with fellow sophomore Alexia Alvarez in doubles play accumulating five wins.
A win on Thursday would set Georgia State up for a quarterfinals battle with the second seed from the East, Georgia Southern, on Friday. The quarterfinal would begin at 2:00 p.m.
