ATLANTA -- Georgia State men's tennis (10-5) heads to Alabama for a pair of key Sun Belt Conference meetings. First the Panthers will face South Alabama on Friday at 2:00 p.m. before battling Troy on Saturday afternoon. Both contests will be played at Troy.

Georgia State earned a trio of victories last weekend, including two over conference foes to extend their six match winning streak. First the Panthers bested Coastal Carolina 6-1 before pausing Sun Belt action on Friday to face Presbyterian. The Panthers once again emerged victorious with a 6-1 result. The weekend finished with a 7-0 sweep over in-state and conference foe Georgia Southern.

Vazha Shubladze earned a trio of wins in singles action last week, including a victory over No. 100 Bastien Huon of Coastal Carolina. The junior's impressive play earned him Sun Belt Player of the Week accolades. Additionally senior Andrei Duarte did not drop a set over nine sets of play in singles and doubles action in route to being named the Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week.

All the impressive play accolades have translated into the latest ITA rankings. The Panthers are ranked No. 59 as a team. Meanwhile, two doubles pairings have earned a spot on the list. Harvey Maughan and Kevin Huynh were tabbed the No. 47 duo in the country. In addition Andrei Duarte and Roberts Grinvalds were listed as No. 76 in this week's ratings.

The Panthers will face two tough opponents in South Alabama and Troy both for the first and only time during the regular season. In the contest against the host, the Panthers will square-off against a Troy team with a 17-2 record. The Trojans have faced two Sun Belt opponents, splitting decisions.
