PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – Georgia State men's tennis dropped a 4-1 match to Old Dominion Friday afternoon at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.
The Panthers (3-4) fell behind after conceding the doubles point following losses on courts one and two, but quickly knotted the match against the Monarchs with a straight set victory from Harvey Maughan in position No. 5. The match marked the junior's this consecutive victory this season.
Old Dominion rallied back picking up points from courts six and two. Despite efforts from Andrei Duarte and Mihai Marinescu to keep the match alive, Old Dominion sealed the win with a straight set result on court one.
Georgia State returns to the court 3 p.m. ET Sunday for a matchup against North Florida. GSU will look for revenge, as last season the Panthers fell 4-3 to the Ospreys. Live stats will be available for Sunday's match.
