On the Road Again...Georgia State to Battle Pair of Florida Squads

ATLANTA – The Georgia State men's tennis team (4-4) will return to Florida for a pair of matches in the Sunshine State. First the Panthers will battle No. 34 South Florida Saturday before facing Stetson on Sunday. 

Georgia State is coming off an exciting 5-2 victory over UNF last weekend. The Panthers showed their determination and drive during crucial points to clinch the doubles point and edge going into singles action. GSU continued their momentum into singles play. Harvey Maughan registered his fifth victory in blue and white this season to extend the Georgia State lead. Vazha Shubladze added to the point total before senior Kevin Huynh clinched the match in his first outing of the season. Andrei Duarte would finish the match with an additional GSU win. 

The Panthers will face a No. 34 South Florida team that is coming off a 4-3 victory over Liberty Wednesday afternoon. Overall, the Bulls have registered a 7-2 record this season, including victories over Clemson and Auburn. First serve is set for 10:00 a.m. The following day Georgia State will meet a Stetson squad who holds a 1-3 record with a win over Mercer. The match is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start time.
