Berlin T5th, Panthers T5th at Stutter Gus Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga.– With play of Round 2 suspended by darkness, the Georgia State women's golf team stood in a tie for fifth place following Round 1 of the Strutter Gus Invitational on Sunday night.

The Panthers shot an opening round 29-over 317 on a wet Georgia Southern University Golf Course to sit tied with the host and in-state rival Eagles following the long morning round.

Emma Berlin led the Panthers with an opening round 4-over 76 to stand just one stroke off the lead entering the second round.

Illinois State led by one-stroke after the first round, while four players shared the individual lead at 3-over par.

No player broke 75 during Round 1 and no team broke 310. Georgia State had about five holes to play when Round 2 was halted due to darkness.
