Leveau's 71 Leads Women's Golf in Round 1 of Little Rock Classic

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – Sophomore Mahina Leveau got off to a red-hot start on Sunday and finished with a 1-under par 71 to lead the Georgia State women's golf team in Round 1 of the Little Rock Golf Classic at Diamante Country Club.

After an opening hole par, Leveau ran off four-straight birdies and turned at 32. The sophomore stumbled a little coming home, but still finished under par and is tied for sixth with two rounds to play and currently just one stroke out of second place.

Georgia State sits in fifth place following at 10-over par following an opening round 298. The Panthers are just one stroke back of UT Arlington and 13 off the pace set by Sun Belt Conference foe ULM (-3) on day one.

"The team did a great job of keeping their cool in some tough conditions today," head coach Jessica Steward said. "It was windy, and the course was playing long. It would've been easy to get tired and lose their composure, but Mahina, Kelly, and Ari in particular posted solid rounds."

The Schedule: The tournament will continue Monday and Tuesday playing 18 holes each day. Tee times will begin at 9:30 a.m. ET Monday. Round 3 will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m. ET.
