As part of the 'Virtual' Senior Day series, today we take a moment to celebrate
Quentin Coulaud and
Bailey Showers, two seniors on the Georgia State men's tennis team.
Here is a quick reflection on their careers as we honor them for Senior Day.
Quentin Coulaud
Over the past four years,
Quentin Coulaud has tallied 52 wins in singles competition and 42 wins in doubles competition across the fall and spring seasons for GSU. Coulaud was apart of the 2017 team that won the Sun Belt Conference Championship and made the NCAA Tournament, as he finished second on the team in doubles wins that season. In the spring of 2019, he went 10-6 in singles and 12-2 in doubles to help the Panthers win the program's first ever Sun Belt Regular Season title. In the fall of 2019, Coulaud and partner
Bailey Showers won the championship of the B1 Doubles bracket in the Wake Forest Invitational. In the classroom, he had made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in back-to-back semesters. Coulaud finished his Georgia State career with six singles wins and seven doubles wins during the 2020 spring season, picking up Sun Belt Player of the Week honors on March 11.
Bailey Showers
A four-year senior,
Bailey Showers accumulated a 42-18 record in doubles competition in addition to 30 singles victories during the spring and fall seasons at Georgia State. He was a part of the 2017 team that won the Sun Belt Conference Championship and made the NCAA Tournament and ranked second on the team in doubles wins (14) on the squad that won the first ever Sun Belt Regular Season title in school history in 2019. In the fall of 2019, Showers and partner
Quentin Coulaud won the championship of the B1 Doubles bracket in the Wake Forest Invitational. For all his accomplishments on the court, he was just as successful in the classroom, where he was a two-time ITA Scholar Athlete and a 2018-19 CoSIDA Academic All-American. Showers finished his Georgia State career with five singles wins and seven doubles wins during the 2020 spring season, ending the year on a five-match win streak in doubles play with Coulaud.
