Coach Elliott provides insight and analysis as the Panthers executed the largest comeback in school history to kick off their home slate with win before a crowd of 20, 351. Following the upset win at Tennessee the week before, Georgia State started 2-0 for the first time in its brief history.
GAME SUMMARY
After falling behind FCS No. 11 Furman 20-3 in the second quarter, Georgia State reeled off 28 unanswered points en route to a 48-42 victory.Â

Beginning midway in the second quarter, the Panthers scored on seven straight possessions, including six straight touchdowns on drives covering an average of 77 yards.

GSU enjoyed one of the most prolific offensive performances in school history against the Paladins with 48 points (at the time the second most in school history and most since 2010) and 566 yards of total offense (third-highest figure in GSU history at the time).Â
"Let me tell you, the crowd was amazing," Elliott said after the game. "I want you to know, the students in the north end zone were FANTASTIC. I felt the energy coming from the stands. I could feel the excitement in the voices and the cheering. The band was phenomenal."

Quarterback
Dan Ellington tossed a school-record five touchdown passes to five different receivers and recorded career-highs with 362 yards passing and 448 yards of total offense.
Receivers
Cornelius McCoy (10 catches, 143 yards),
Terrance Dixon (8 catches, 68 yards), and
Sam Pinckney Pinckney (7 catches, 80 yards) all set career-high for receptions and yards, while Dixon and Pinckney earned their first touchdown catches.
Tight ends
Roger Carter and
Aubry Payne also caught touchdowns.
Running backs Seth Page (64 yards) and
Tra Barnett (52 yards, 1 TD) combined for 116 of the Panthers' 204 yards rushing.
Senior safety
Remy Lazarus helped seal the win with his fourth-quarter interception, which he returned 57 yards.
Noseguard
Dontae Wilson recorded two sacks.
