Watch Highlights of Comeback Victory Over Furman in Home Opener

Highlight Package Includes Commentary from Coach Shawn Elliott

Watch highlights of Georgia State's 48-42 victory over Furman in the Panthers home opener at Georgia State Stadium, with commentary from head coach Shawn Elliott.

Coach Elliott provides insight and analysis as the Panthers executed the largest comeback in school history to kick off their home slate with win before a crowd of 20, 351. Following the upset win at Tennessee the week before, Georgia State started 2-0 for the first time in its brief history.

GAME SUMMARY

After falling behind FCS No. 11 Furman 20-3 in the second quarter, Georgia State reeled off 28 unanswered points en route to a 48-42 victory.

Beginning midway in the second quarter, the Panthers scored on seven straight possessions, including six straight touchdowns on drives covering an average of 77 yards.

GSU enjoyed one of the most prolific offensive performances in school history against the Paladins with 48 points (at the time the second most in school history and most since 2010) and 566 yards of total offense (third-highest figure in GSU history at the time).

"Let me tell you, the crowd was amazing," Elliott said after the game. "I want you to know, the students in the north end zone were FANTASTIC. I felt the energy coming from the stands. I could feel the excitement in the voices and the cheering. The band was phenomenal."
