He is No. 75, he plays left guard on the Georgia State offensive line and his given name is Shamarious Da'Quion Bernard Gilmore, but he is known to most as Quion (pronounced KWON).
On Friday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m., Gilmore and his teammates were scheduled to be on the field at Georgia State Stadium for the annual Blue-White Spring Game.
With the sports world on hold, we give you a taste of spring football. In one of the final practices before the hiatus, Gilmore was mic'd up, giving Panther fans unique insight and access.
Gilmore, from Riverdale, Ga., and Drew High School, is perhaps the elder statesman of the 2020 Panthers, a fifth-year senior who has not only started every game the last three seasons, but rarely ever come off the field.Â
A three-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection, he is a key figure in back-to-back school-record rushing seasons in 2018 and 2019, helping the Panthers average 208 yards per game over the last two years.
In 2019, Gilmore was part of a prolific GSU offense that set school records for rushing yards (3,141), rushing touchdowns (30), total offense (5,818), first downs (305), touchdowns (53) and points (406). He helped the Panthers rank No. 13 in FBS with 241.6 rushing yards per game, including school-record games against Arkansas State (340 yards), Coastal Carolina (350 yards), Troy (390 yards) and ULM (414 yards) and blocked for Sun Belt rushing leader
Tra Barnett (111.8 ypg/No. 11 FBS).
And as you can see in this video, he can sing a little ... maybe?
