CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Georgia State men's tennis dropped a 4-3 match to North Florida Saturday afternoon at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
The Panthers (4-8) fell behind after conceding the doubles point following losses on courts one and two, but quickly took the lead over UNF (6-1) with three straight wins in singles competition.
Bailey Showers tied the score at 1-1 after dominating his opponent 6-2, 6-0 on court five, then
Quentin Coulaud added to the Panthers' lead with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at the No. 2 position.
Roberts Grinvalds earned a 6-4, 6-2 win on court one to put GSU one point away from locking up the team win, but North Florida rallied back to take wins on all three remaining courts for the 4-3 victory.
Georgia State returns to the court 1 p.m. ET Sunday for a matchup against Charlotte at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex. Live stats will be available for Sunday's match against the 49ers on
