WALLACE, N.C. – Led by top 20 finishes from senior Harmanprit Kaur and freshman Jenny Marston, the Georgia State women's golf team shot a final round 298 to finish in seventh place on Tuesday at the River Landing Classic at River Landing Country Club.

Kaur and Marston each shot 75 in the final round and finished the 54-hole event at 8-over par and tied for 19th place.

The Panthers finished the two-day event at 34-over par, but nearly made a run at the top spot late in the round.

"We're a little disappointed with our finish, but not necessarily disappointed with ourselves," head coach Jessica Steward said. "We missed a lot of opportunities to capitalize on the doors that BU and High Point left open today and would have been very happy with a fifth-place finish. However, the ladies feel strongly that they played much better than they scored, so we still leave this event with the confidence we've built up so far this year."

Junior Chloe Howard and sophomore Emma Berlin added final round scores of 74 for the Panthers. Berlin tied for 24th place at 10-over par, while Howard earned a tie for 33rd at 13-over par. Freshman Kelly Strickland rounded out the line-up with a 7-over 79 and tied for 48th place at 18-over par.

Host UNC Wilmington shot a 6-under par 282 in the final round to earn a one stroke win at 17-over par. USC Upstate finished in second place at 18-over par, with ETSU coming in third place at 22-over par. Jacksonville State placed fourth at 25-over par, with Boston University rounding out the top five at 26-over par.

ETSU's Tereza Melecka and UNC Wilmington's Phu Khine shared low medalist honors at even par. USC Upstate's Beem Pabsimma and ETSU's Kornbongkoat Sararat tied for third place at 1-over par. Bradley's Taylor Ledwein rounded out the top five at 2-over par.

Georgia State will now look ahead to the middle of the month and will travel to Sedona, Ariz., for the Red Rocks Invitational March 21-22.
