ATLANTA- After facing Auburn on the road last weekend, Georgia State women's tennis is headed to Johnson City, Tenn., to face East Tennessee State University on Friday before battling Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday.
The Panthers will look to bounce back from a 6-1 loss to the Tigers. Georgia State's point came from this week's Sun Belt Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week,
Eva Chivu (2-1). The Romanian cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory, upsetting No. 79 Taylor Russo. Chivu has started her sophomore campaign strong, blanking her opposition in half of the sets played so far. She will look to add two more impressive victories to the win column this weekend.
ETSU goes into this weekend with a 1-2 record, picking up a win at Davidson. The team is in their third year with Ricky Rojas at the helm. VCU comes to Tennessee with a 4-1 record, only falling to Syracuse.
First serve is slated for 11:30 a.m. on Friday followed by an 11:00 a.m. start Saturday morning.
