Howard Named Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week

ATLANTA-Georgia State junior women's golfer Chloe Howard opened the spring season in record setting fashion at the Amelia Island Collegiate was named the Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Howard opened the spring season with a tie for eighth in Florida and shot a final round 3-under 69, on her birthday no less, to finish at even par following rounds of 71 and 76.

It was the lowest round of the year for a member of the team and tied for the seventh-lowest third round in program history. Her 216 three-round total was just one stroke outside of the top 10 lowest three round scores in program history.

She led the Panthers to a tie for fifth place in the 15-team field. Her 69 led the Panthers to a final round 1-under 287 which was the lowest round for the program in more than 4.5 years dating back to the 2015 Fall Invitational. It tied for the sixth-lowest round in program history and the third-lowest third round total as well.

Georgia State will next travel to Wallace, N.C., for the River Landing Classic March 9-10.
