UPDATE: Wednesday's game has been postponed due to weather.

ATLANTA -- Georgia State's softball team will host crosstown rival Georgia Tech at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.

The Panthers are coming off an 8-4 win over Monmouth Sunday at THE Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Fla. Wednesday will mark GSU's second home game of the year after the Panthers hosted Georgia last Wednesday.

GSU's offensive leaders so far in 2020 have been veteran Caitlin Ray and freshman Daisy Hess. Ray's seven RBI and .357 average are both tops on the team. Hess is hitting .300 with a pair of home runs and five RBI.

Freshman Sophie Mooney has made an immediate impact on GSU's pitching staff. Mooney is third in the Sun Belt with 34 strikeouts and leads the league in strikeouts looking.

Wednesday will mark the 75th meeting all-time between GSU and Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets have won the last two meetings and lead the series 49-25.

Admission and parking at the Bob Heck Softball Complex are both free.
