ATLANTA – Looking ahead to a busy spring schedule, Georgia State men's golf head coach Chad Wilson announced the Panthers schedule on Friday morning.
The Panthers will play five tournaments leading up to the Sun Belt Conference Championship as Georgia State looks to claim its ninth conference title all-time.
"I'm really excited about a very competitive schedule we have put together for the spring," head coach Chad Wilson said. "We think this schedule not only prepares us well for conference and NCAA Regional play, but also gives us some flexibility to add an event in if conditions allow."
The spring season will open Feb. 14-16, at the All-American Intercollegiate at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas. Georgia State last opened the spring there in 2018 and shot a final round 285, which proved to be the second-lowest round of the year for the Panthers.
Three weeks later the Panthers will return to the Tiger Invitational at Grand National Golf Club in Opelika, Ala. Georgia State has finished in the top five in the event just across the state border in four of the last six years including a second-place finish in the 17-team field in 2018.
Georgia State will close out the month March 27-28, at the Tar Heel Invitational hosted by North Carolina at Finley Golf Course. It will mark the Panthers first trip to Chapel Hill since UNC hosted a fall event in 2003.
It will be followed by a return trip to the 3M Augusta Invitational April 3-4, at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. The Panthers will join an elite field the weekend before the start of The Masters at Augusta National.
Georgia State will close out the regular season traveling up I-85 for the Wofford Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C., April 12-13, at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
The Panthers will look to earn another Sun Belt Championship and win a ninth conference championship at Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, Ark., April 25-28.
NCAA Regional play will once again take place at six national sites, May 17-19. The NCAA Championship is set for Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 28-June 2, with the final day of stroke play and the match play portion of the event televised on The Golf Channel.
