Georgia State Drops Season Opener

The Panthers fall to head coach Alex Leatu's alma mater, Baylor, 4-0 on the road

*GSU will face McNeese State in Waco on Sunday morning.

Waco, Texas- Georgia State women's tennis dropped the season opener 7-0 to Baylor Friday evening in Waco.

The Bears would come out to a quick start with big leads on each court in doubles play. Baylor would clinch the point with a 6-2 victory against Georgia State duo Chivu/Carney on court one.

Carney started her freshman season off on the right foot with a quick 6-2 first set victory on court four. Ultimately, the debut Panther would fall in three sets. During Carney's match, the Bears would win in two sets on courts one, five, and six to clinch the match.

Georgia State is back on the court Sunday for a neutral site match with McNeese State. The Panthers and Cowgirls will meet at 10:00 a.m. C.T. in Waco.
