ATLANTA – Georgia State and Georgia Tech will square off for the first time in a home and home football series for the 2024 and 2026 seasons as announced by both athletic departments on Wednesday.
Georgia Tech will host the first game between the two programs on Aug. 31, 2024, at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Two years later the Panthers will host the Yellow Jackets at Georgia State Stadium on Sept. 19, 2026.
Georgia State just wrapped up the 2019 season with a third bowl appearance in five years after facing Wyoming in the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl. The Panthers' seven wins matched a school record after going a program-best 5-1 at home during the year.
Despite being in existence for just 10 years, Georgia State is no stranger to ACC competition. The Panthers have previously gone on the road to face Atlantic Coast Conference opponents twice (Clemson and NC State). Georgia Tech will be the second ACC opponent to appear in Georgia State Stadium as North Carolina will face the Panthers in Atlanta in 2022.
Georgia State has set its non-conference schedules through the 2022 season, with two games set for 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Season tickets deposits are now on-sale for the 2020 season by calling 404-413-4020 or by visiting GeorgiaStateSports.com/Tix. The Panthers host East Carolina and Murray State in non-conference action in 2020, while Sun Belt Conference foes Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Louisiana, and ULM make an appearance at Georgia State Stadium.
