ATLANTA-- Georgia State closes out the season at Old Dominion on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
Despite the loss against Marshall in week nine, running back Jordon Simmons and kicker Braeden McAlister broke program records in the game. Simmons ran back a 92-yard touchdown to break the program record for longest rushing touchdown. He accumulated 164 rushing yards during the game to place himself third overall in program history for the most single-game rushing yards.
McAlister kicked a 60-yard field goal against Marshall (Nov. 15) to tie the SBC record for longest field goal, mark the longest Sun Belt field goal this season, break the GSU program record and hit the second-longest FG in the NCAA this season. This kick earned him week 12 SBC Special Teams Player of the Week honors, the only POTW recognition for the Panthers this season.
Quarterback Cameran Brown became the Panthers starter in week seven at Georgia Southern, and started until injury in week nine at coastal. The senior QB went 29-for-38 with 280 passing yards and a career-high 120 rushing yards at Southern (Oct. 18).
Previously this season, veteran quarterback TJ Finely has had the start, with Brown coming in throughout.
Coach McGee and the Panthers' staff welcomed the largest recruiting class in program history, adding 29 to the early signing class, and 67 total newcomers.
SERIES HISTORY
Georgia State and Old Dominion are meeting for the 7th time in program history. The Panthers are 1-5 in the series after falling 21-14 at home last season.
LEADING THE PACK
Receiver Ted Hurst leads the Panthers through another season, totaling 928 yards on 64 receptions and six touchdowns. The senior notched a career-high 10 receptions and matched his career-high two touchdowns in the win over Murray State (Sept. 13), the best-single game offensive performance for the Panthers so far this season.
Following directly behind Hurst is Javon Robinson with four touchdowns. The junior receiver has accumulated 579 yards on 55 receptions.
The junior transfer snagged a career-high nine receptions against App State (Oct. 11).
Running back Jordon Simmons leads the Panthers' run-game with 464 yards on 80 carries.
Simmons scored a 92-yard rushing touchdown on the first offensive snap against Marshall to set a new program record for longest rushing touchdown (Nov. 15). His 164 total yards against Marshall placed third overall in the program for single-season rushing yards.
He scored his first touchdown of the season against Coastal Carolina (Nov. 8).
Simmons leads the Panthers in yards-per-carry, averaging 6.2. He ran a career-long 92-yarder against Marshall (Nov. 15), which is the longest rush in Georgia State history.

The dual threat scored Georgia State's first rushing touchdown of the season against Memphis (Sept. 6). He matched his career-high three touchdowns from passes against Murray State (Sept. 13). He leads the panthers through the air, going 114-for-173 for 1,239 yards.
On the defensive side, linebacker Josiah Robinson leads the Panthers with 83 tackles (437 UA), seven tackles for loss of 18 yards, a sack and a fumble recovery. Following closely behind is safety Jaylen Jones with 59 tackles (30 UA), 3.5 TFL and a safety.
