ATLANTA- Georgia State women's tennis won their fourth straight match, and third straight Sun Belt contest defeating Texas State 4-2 Saturday morning at GSU Clarkston. The Panthers were powered by singles wins from Damira Muminovic, Eva Chivu, Daniela Ramirez, and Anastasia Grosheva.
GSU was in an early hole after dropping the doubles point. The Panthers would forfeit number six singles, making the score 2-0 before Eva Chivu coasted to a 6-1, 6-2 win on court one. Muminovic would make it 2-2, winning 6-4, 6-2 on court three. It was the junior's sixth straight win.
GSU would take the lead as Daniela Ramirez won in three sets, taking the final frame 6-2 to put the Panthers up 3-2. State would clinch the match behind a 6-2 third set win from Grosheva on court five.
The Panthers will be looking for their fifth straight victory tomorrow as they take on UT Arlington at 10:30 at the GSU Clarkston Campus.
