ORLANDO-Fla.- The Georgia State women's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 30 UCF Thursday afternoon in Orlando. The Panthers are now 2-6 in the young season.

GSU got a strong effort from the number one doubles pair of Daniela Ramirez and Andreea Stanescu, as the duo was tied 4-4 against No. 22 Valeriya Zeleva and Ksenia Kuznetsova when the Knights clinched the doubles point with wins on courts two and three.

Ramirez, Eva Chivu, and Anastasia Grosheva each battled tough in singles matches, pushing their opponents to the brink in sets, but it was not enough as GSU dropped each singles match in straight sets. Chivu held a 4-3 lead in the first set over No. 27 ranked Valeriya Zeleva.

The Panthers will look to bounce back tomorrow against another difficult opponent. GSU will take on No. 40 Denver at noon in Orlando.
