TUCSON -- The Georgia State football team arrived in Tucson, Ariz., Saturday for Tuesday's NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl as the Panthers take on Wyoming of the Mountain West Conference.
Kickoff for Tuesday's game is at 4:30 p.m. ET (2:30 p.m. MT) at Arizona Stadium. The game will air on CBS Sports Network and the Georgia State Radio Network (92.9 the Game and WRAS-FM 88.5).
The Panthers (7-5, 4-4 Sun Belt) are making their third bowl appearance in the last five years and facing the Wyoming Cowboys (7-5, 4-4 MW) for the first time.
"It's been a really good year for our program to be rewarded with such a great bowl game," head coach
Shawn Elliott said. "What a great welcome! We are looking forward to a great week."
Sunday's schedule includes practice at a local high school, a visit to a children's hospital and a Sunday night event with both teams at Old Tucson.
"We are a young football program, and I talk to our team about doing the things for the first time," Elliott said. "I don't know if any one of our players have ever been to Arizona before; I know I haven't. We're thrilled to death to come out here and represent our university, Georgia State, against a quality opponent like Wyoming."
