Women's Golf Announces Spring Schedule

ATLANTA – As the fall season wrapped up earlier this month, Georgia State women's golf head coach Jessica Steward announced the team's five-tournament spring schedule on Monday, highlighted by annual John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate and a trip to Arizona.

The spring season will once again open Feb. 17-18, in Florida at the Amelia Island Collegiate at Amelia National Golf Club. This will mark the sixth-straight season playing in the event hosted by Jacksonville. The Panthers finished fourth in the event last year as Harmanprit Kaur earned a third-place finish after opening the event with rounds of 71 and 72.

Three weeks later Georgia State will head to the Carolina Coast for the River Landing Classic in Wallace, N.C. The two-day event will take place at River Landing Country Club March 9-10.

The Panthers will continue the spring with a trip to Sedona, Ariz., March 21-22, for the Red Rocks Invitational at Oakcreek Country Club.

Just over a week later the Panthers will return home for the annual John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate at Eagle's Landing Country Club, March 29-31, in Stockbridge, Ga. It will mark the 27th playing of the event and 19th year at Eagle's Landing.

"Our goal is to be playing our best golf of the spring going into our home event and then the conference championship with an automatic bid to postseason play on the line," Steward said. "It is a balanced spring schedule with what I believe will be a great event in Arizona. We will be excited to great practice started after the holiday break."

The Sun Belt Conference Championship is once again scheduled for LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., April 19-21. The winner of the tournament will receive the conference's automatic bid to NCAA Regional play which is scheduled for May 11-13 at four national sites this year.

The season will hopefully conclude at the NCAA Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 22-27.

Practice for the spring season will get underway in late January.
