EDISTO BEACH, S.C. – Led by a pair of top-10 finishes from Thanpitcha Kongthong and Grace Kalina, the Georgia State women's golf team finished fifth overall at the Edisto Island Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at The Plantation Course at Edisto.
The Panthers carded rounds of 302, 289 and 297 to finish with a three-round total of 888 (+36), securing a top-five finish in the 14-team field.
Kongthong led the way for Georgia State, finishing tied for fourth individually at 1-under par (212). After opening the tournament with an even-par 71, Kongthong fired a 4-under 67 in the second round, the lowest individual round recorded by a Panther during the tournament. She closed with a final-round 74 to earn her top-five finish.
Kalina joined Kongthong among the tournament's top finishers, tying for 10th overall with a 5-over 218. After opening with a 76, Kalina bounced back with a 1-under 70 in the second round before closing with a 72 on Tuesday.
Gemilau Kurnia finished tied for 33rd at 16-over par (229), highlighted by a second-round 74. Madison Rookard and Pariya Sanpanawat rounded out the Panthers' lineup, finishing tied for 47th at 20-over par (233). Sanpanawat improved her score in each round, closing the tournament with a 75.
Competing as an individual, Gaemphuang Ketrahong finished tied for 64th with a three-round total of 242 (+29).
Georgia State's strongest team performance came in the second round, when the Panthers combined for a 5-over 289, highlighted by under-par performances from Kongthong and Kalina.
High Point and Charleston shared the team title at 3-over par (855), while Stetson finished third at 878 (+26) and Charleston Southern placed fourth at 885 (+33). High Point's Makayla Grubb claimed individual medalist honors at 8-under par (205).
