AVONDALE, La.– TK Kongthong fired a final-round 2-under 70 to lead Georgia State women's golf to a sixth-place finish at the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein on Wednesday at TPC Louisiana.

The Panthers finished the three-round tournament with a team score of 896 after posting rounds of 298, 300 and 298. Georgia State finished sixth in the 12-team field, five strokes behind fifth-place Howard and seven shots back of fourth-place San Diego State. Host Tulane captured the team title with an 875. 

Kongthong led the Panthers throughout the event, finishing seventh individually at 2-over 218. After opening with a 75, Kongthong improved each round, carding a 73 on Tuesday before closing the tournament with a 2-under 70. Her final round was tied for the second-lowest round of the day among Georgia State's lineup. 

Grace Kalina finished just one stroke behind Kongthong, tying for eighth at 3-over 219. Kalina opened the tournament with a 1-under 71 before rounds of 76 and even-par 72 to give Georgia State two players inside the individual top 10. 

Gemilau Kurnia finished tied for 28th at 12-over 228 following rounds of 74, 75 and 79. Madison Rookard tied for 39th at 16-over 232, while Maegan Pungsuwan rounded out the Panthers' lineup tied for 51st at 20-over 236. 

Pariya Sanpanawat competed as an individual for Georgia State, finishing 54th at 22-over 238 with rounds of 76, 80 and 82. 

The Tulane Classic was played on the par-72, 6,231-yard TPC Louisiana course. 

Georgia State returns to action Sept. 18-20 at the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman at the Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, S.C.
