* No. 3 seed Georgia State dropped a close semifinal match to No. 2 South Alabama 4-2 in New Orleans, La.

* Damira Muminović and Lara Vovk each notched singles victories in the No. 5 and 6 flights, but it was not enough in the end.

* The Panthers (13-9) end head into the off-season returning seven student-athletes. Senior Tarani Kamoe's doubles match went unfinished to start the day.

NEW ORLEANS, La. – No. 3 seed Georgia State fell to No. 2 South Alabama in the semifinals of the SBC tournament.

The Jaguars (21-4) took the doubles point to start the day by earning wins in the No. 1 and 3 flights. They move on to face No. 1 seed UL Monroe in the championship match at 11 a.m. ET.

Georgia State earned two singles wins in the No. 5 and 6 flights. Damira Muminović and Lara Vovk each took care of business with victories. Muminovic finished with an 11-8 record and Vovk tallied her 8th singles win to get to a winning record this season.

Freshman Arina Taluyenko led the Panthers with a 15-4 overall singles record.

The Panthers finish the 2017 season at 13-9. GSU is set to return seven players next fall.
