What you need to know:

* Georgia State bounced back to pick up its first Sun Belt Conference victory Saturday afternoon. The Panthers (8-7, 1-2) defeated the Troy Trojans 4-3 down in Statesboro, Ga.

* GSU took two of three matches to pick up the doubles point in the neutral match. Kristen Rehse, Arina Taluyenko and Lara Vovk each earned singles wins to will the Panthers to victory.

* The Panthers return to the courts Sunday at 4 p.m. versus rival Georgia Southern inside the Eagles' Wallis Tennis Center.

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia State registered its first conference victory Saturday afternoon on the campus of Georgia Southern. The Panthers (8-7, 1-2) outlasted the Troy Trojans 4-3 behind solid doubles and singles performances.

GSU took two of three matches from Troy in doubles to earn the doubles point.

Arina Taluyenko and Tarani Kamoe doubled up the Trojans' Hannah Seizer and Alicia Rodriguez 6-3 to clinch the doubles point. Lara Vovk and Anastasia Grosheva overpowered Troy's duo to get Georgia State on the board.

In singles action, Kristin Rehse, Taluyenko and Vovk each notched wins to carry the Panthers across the finish line. Rehse's 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 win over Troy's Sanae Ohta clinched the match for Georgia State.

Head coach Jason Marshall and the Panthers are back in action at rival Georgia Southern Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.
