What you need to know:

* Georgia State edged Southern Mississippi 4-3 Saturday afternoon to improve to .500 on the season. The second match of the doubleheader versus Mercer was postponed due to rain.

* The Panthers (5-5) earned their fifth win on the season behind Damira Muminovic's strong performances. Muminovic clinched the match for GSU and improved to 5-2 on the year.

* GSU travels to Dallas, Texas this weekend ahead of Monday's match versus SMU. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. The Panthers also play North Texas and Cincinnati next week out in Texas.

ATLANTA – After dropping the doubles point and trailing 2-1 in the match, Georgia State battled back to edge Southern Mississippi 4-3 at GSU-Clarkston Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers (5-5, 0-1 SBC) clinched the match against the Golden Eagles (5-6) on Damira Muminovic's 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory over Elena Roca.

Muminovic went 2-0 on the day with help from teammate Kristin Rehse in doubles. The pair defeated Roca and Rikeetha Pereira 6-3. Muminovic improved her singles record to 5-2 on the year and registered her fifth doubles win.

Arina Taluyenko, Daniela Ramirez and Anastasia Grosheva helped set the stage for the 4-3 win with singles victories. Taluyenko is now 7-2 in singles matches and Grosheva is above .500 at 5-4.

The match versus Mercer will be rescheduled to a day and time that is TBA.  

GSU travels to Dallas for its match versus SMU on Monday, March 13th. First serve is set for 4 p.m. ET.
