GREENVILLE, S.C. – Freshman Harmanprit Kaur shot a career-low 1-under 71 to lead the Georgia State women's golf team to a final round 310 and a 19th place finish on Sunday at the Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Course.
Kaur made four birdies during the round and has shot 74 or better in six of eight rounds this year. She finished the week tied for 53rd at 10-over par.
“I was impressed by the way Harmanprit bounced back from a tough round on Saturday,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “We learned a lot about ourselves this weekend and hopefully we can use that moving forward for the second half of our fall season.”
Sophomore Jemima Gregson shot a final round 76 to finish the event at 10-over par and tied for 53rd.
Senior Solene Le Coz shot an 81 on Sunday to finish at 22-over and tied for 92nd. Senior Jooeun Bae and redshirt-sophomore Emily Royer tied for 95th at 23-over. Each shot a final round 82.
Texas shot a final round 286 on Sunday to finish the 54-hole event at 11-under par and earn a two-stroke win over host Furman which shot 9-under. Illinois finished third at 2-under, followed by Augusta in fourth at 2-over. Middle Tennessee rounded out the top five at 6-over par.
Texas' Emilee Hoffman earn low medalist honors finishing the three-day event at 6-under par. Furman's Alice Chen finished second at 5-under par, with Illinois' Bing Singhsumalee coming in third at 4-under. Virginia Tech's Amanda Hollandsworth placed fourth at 3-under par, with four golfers tying for fifth at 2-under.
Georgia State will return to the course for the Jacksonville Classic, Oct. 3-4, at Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
