GREENVILLE, S.C. – Sophomore Jemima Gregson led the Panthers with a 76 on Saturday in the second round of the Lady Paladin Invitational as the Georgia State women's golf team shot a second round 320 at the Furman University Course.
The Panthers dropped to 19th at 40-over par with 18 holes to play on Sunday.
“It was a tough round for us,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “Unfortunately, everyone struggled a bit and just could not find our rhythm. We will look to come out and finish the tournament strong on Sunday.”
Gregson stands tied for 48th at 6-over par following an opening round 74.
Freshman Harmanprit Kaur shot a second round 83 and is 11-over and tied for 77th.
Seniors Solene Le Coz and Jooeun Bae, along with redshirt-sophomore Emily Royer are tied for 87th at 13-over par. Bae shot 80 on Saturday, while Royer finished with an 81 and Le Coz shot 83.
Host Furman and Texas share the team lead at 9-under par entering Sunday's final round. Illinois stands third at 4-under, followed by Augusta in fourth at 2-over. Middle Tennessee rounds out the top five at 7-over par.
Furman's Alice Chen shot a 3-under 69 on Saturday and holds the individual lead at 5-under par. Texas' Emilee Hoffman and Illinois' Bing Singhsumalee are tied for second at 4-under par. Virginia Tech's Amanda Hollandsworth and Texas' Sophia Schubert are tied for fifth at 3-under par.
