CLINTON, S.C.- The No. 52 Georgia State men's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Presbyterian College on Saturday afternoon, extending its win-streak to five-straight matches. Freshman Jack MacFarlane had the match-clinching point, his third match-clincher in a row.

The Panthers improved to 14-4, while the Blue Hose fell to 10-13.

In doubles play, GSU split the first two sets before clinching the point in the third. Felipe Jaworski and Jannis Koeke earned a 6-2 victory over Will Baird and Steven Warner in the No. 3 match before Jack MacFarlane and Zackery Kennedy fell 6-2 to Danny Bruce and Joel Roberts. Sebastian Acuna and Andrei Andrukhou clinched the doubles point in the No. 1 match with a 6-4 defeat of Brandon Mills and Alexander Lykou.

The Panthers opened singles play strong, winning five of the six singles matches. Jaworski earned a 6-0, 6-2 win over Baird in the No. 6 match, putting Georgia State up 2-0. Koeke was the next to finish, defeating Lykou 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 1 match. MacFarlane clinched the match for the Panthers with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Roberts in the tie-breaker set.

The only GSU loss came from Andrukhou, who fell 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 to Bruce. In the No. 2 match, Kennedy earned a 6-7 (6), 6-3, 6-3 win over Bejar to put the Panthers up 5-1. Acuna was the last to finish, defeating Mills 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 in the tie-breaker set.

The Panthers will be back on the court on Sunday, facing College of Charleston at noon.
