 TROY, Ala.- In its third conference match of the season, the No. 51 Georgia State men's tennis team earned a 4-1 victory over Troy on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Panthers remained perfect in Sun Belt play.

GSU improved to 16-4 (3-0 Sun Belt), whilethe Trojans fell to 15-13 (1-3 Sun Belt).

The Panthers struggled in doubles play, with Troy clinching the doubles point after the first two matches. Sebastian Acuna and Andrei Andrukhou fell 6-2 to Pablo Moreno and Giovani Samaha in the No. 1 match. Jannis Koeke and Felipe Jaworski were defeated 6-3 by Andy Lau and Andre Baldo in the No. 3 match. Zackery Kennedy and Jack MacFarlane's match went unfinished due to the clinch.

Georgia State bounced back in singles play, winning four straight matches to clinch the match. Kennedy defeated Moreno 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 2 match to the tie up the match 1-1. Koeke's 6-4, 6-0 win over Bustamente put the Panthers ahead of the Trojans 2-1.

Acuna widened the gap for GSU with a 7-6, retired win over Lau. The match-clincher came from Jaworski, who earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Ndayishimiye in the No. 6 match. MacFarlane and Andrukhou's matches went unfinished due to the match being secured in favor of the Panthers.

The Panthers will be back on the court in their final road match of the season to face conference rival Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga., on April 15 at 3 p.m.
