Senior Lauren carded a 4-over 76 with a pair of birdies and sits in a tie for 10th place. Sophomore Jooeun Bae added a 6-over 78 for her best round of the spring. Solene Le Coz posted an 8-over 80 after bogeys on the final two holes. Junior Julie Lied played in her first event of the spring and had a 12-over 84, due to a triple bogey and a pair of double-bogey holes.

The challenging start and stop play combined with the weather conditions meant no team could break 300 for the opening round. Troy's 13-over 301 leads Texas State by two strokes. GSU sits seven shots behind the leader.
