What you need to know:
* Georgia State improved by 12 strokes and jumped two spots in the standings following a second round 15-over 303 in the second round of the 38th annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.
* Sophomore Paula Zabarte shot a second round 1-over 73 to lead the Panthers. With one round to play, Zabarte is tied for 35th.
* Georgia State will return to the course on Tuesday morning for the final round with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m.
BRADENTON, Fla. – Led by a 73 from sophomore Paula Zabarte, the Georgia State women's golf team shot a second round 15-over 303 to move into 11th place at the at the 38th annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.
The Panthers stand 42-over par entering the final round on Tuesday after four of the five players in the line-up posted better scores on Monday from day one.
Zabarte, who improved by seven strokes from round one, sits tied for 35th at 9-over par.
Freshman Jemima Gregson, who has recorded back-to-back top 25 finishes, continued her steady play with a 4-over 76 and sits tied for 20th at 6-over par entering the final round.
“We were a lot more competitive today,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “We still have some things we need to work on, but we limited our big numbers and made some birdies. If we can clean up a few more things, I think we can have a great round to finish the fall on Tuesday.”
Sophomore Yasemin Sari added a second round 4-over 76 and stands tied for 40th at 10-over entering the final round. Freshman Gloria Zeitler shot a 6-over 78 on Monday and sits at 17-over and tied for 62nd.
Junior Solene Le Coz rounded out the line-up with a 10-over 82 and is tied for 74th at 22-over par entering the final round.
Following a 4-over 292, Toledo will enter the final round with a one-stroke lead at 12-over par. Memphis stands second at 13-over, followed by host FIU in third at 16-over. Daytona State sits in fourth at 17-over, while first round leader James Madison is fifth at 21-over.
Memphis' Leighann Cabush continues to lead at 2-under following a second round 73. Daytona State's Ji Sun Kang, Toledo's Sathika Ruenreong and Western Kentucky's Georgina Blackman are tied for second at even par. Toledo's Manisa Isavas, James Madison's Carley Cox and FIU's Meghan MacLaren are tied for fifth at 1-over.
