* Georgia State shot a second round 315 to remain in 10th-place following the second round of the Fighting Camel Fall Classic at Keith Hills Country Club in Buies Creek, N.C.
* Freshman Jemima Gregson shot a second round 3-over 75 to stand at 10-over par and tied for 10th with 18 holes to play.
* Despite standing in 10th place, the Panthers are just three strokes out of fifth-place and nine out of third entering Tuesday's final round.
BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Led by freshman Jemima Gregson's 3-over 75, the Georgia State women's golf team shot a 27-over 315 on Monday to stand in 10th-place at the Fighting Camel Fall Classic at Keith Hills Country Club entering the final round on Tuesday.
Gregson stands 10th thru 36 holes at 10-over after making a pair of birdies during the second round.
In tough conditions once again, no team in the field broke 300 and no individual broke par.
Thru two rounds, the Panthers are 56-over, but just five strokes out of fifth-place and only nine strokes out of second-place.
“It was another tough day on the course for all of the teams,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “We had one of the better rounds going, but stumbled to finish strong. From the scores, we know that we can move up the leaderboard, but we have to play solid golf from the first tee shot to the last putt.”
Sophomore Yasemin Sari added a second round 10-over 82 to stand at 14-over and tied for 26th. Sophomore Paula Zabarte added an 8-over 80 to sit at 16-over and tied for 41st.
Junior Solene Le Coz shot Georgia State's second-low round of the day, a 6-over 78, to move into a tie for 43rd at 17-over par. Freshman Gloria Zeitler rounded out the Panthers line-up with a 10-over 82 and is 20-over par and tied for 59th entering the final round.
Junior Jooeun Bae, competing as an individual, shot a second round 13-over 85 to stand at 22-over and tied for 64th. Senior Julie Lied, also competing as individual, shot a 14-over 86 and is tied for 74th at 29-over with 18 holes to play.
Host Campbell will enter the final round with a 16-stroke lead following a 13-over 301 on Monday. The Fighting Camels are at 31-over thru 36 holes, while Mercer is second at 47-over. Old Dominion stands third at 48-over, followed by North Arizona in fourth at 49-over. Nova Southeastern stands fifth at 53-over par, while Western Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, North Illinois and Stetson are all tied for sixth at 54-over.
Mercer's Mary Janiga shot a 1-over 73 to stand at 1-over for the tournament and hold the individual lead entering the final round. Campbell's Nadine White is second at 2-over, followed by Stetson's Giulia Vandenberg and Georgia Southern's Ariana Macioce tied for fourth at 4-over. Old Dominion's Sana Tufail rounds out the top five at 6-over par.
Georgia State will be paired with Georgia Southern and Marshall for a shotgun start final round at 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday. Live scoring can be found at GolfStat.com.
Following this week's tournament, Georgia State will close out the fall season at the 38th annual FIU Pat Bradley Classic in Sarasota, Fla., Oct. 25-27, at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.
