GREENVILLE, S.C. – Georgia State shot a final round 14-over 302 to finish tenth at the Lady Paladin Invitational on Sunday afternoon. Junior Lauren Court led the Panthers with a final round 74 to finish 8-over and earn a career-best tie for 21st.
The Panthers finished the 54-hole event at 43-over, opening with rounds of 302 and 303.
Court's final round included four birdies for the first top-25 finish since her freshman season. The 74 was also the lowest third round score of her career as well.
“The consistency and improved play are something for us to be extremely proud,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “We gave a few back at the end today, but I think that was just thinking ahead a little. I am proud of the effort. This is a promising and exciting start for us.
“Despite playing well, the team is not happy with the result. We will tighten some things up and be ready for our next event in just over a week.
“I am also very happy for Lauren. Her play is incredibly important to our team's success. Over the summer, she rededicated herself and got some new clubs that I think are a better fit. Her and Melissa stayed around campus over the summer and really stepped up. Lauren is setting herself up for a strong leadership role when she becomes a senior next year.”
Senior Laura Sanchez also shot a final round 2-over 74 to finish tied for 26th at 10-over par. Sanchez finished the event with four birdies in the final round.
Sophomore Julie Lied shot a final round 5-over 77 to tie for 36th at 12-over par, while senior Melissa Siviter also fired a final round 77 to finish at 14-over and tied for 45th.

Solene Le Coz, competing as an individual and making her GSU debut, shot a final round 81 to finish in a tie for 67th at 20-over par.
Wisconsin shot the low-round of the tournament, a 7-under 281, to come-from-behind and earn a two-stroke victory over Clemson. The Badgers finished the event at 1-over, followed by the Tigers at 3-over. GRU Augusta (formerly Augusta State), which led entering the final round, finished at 6-over and alone in third. East Carolina finished fourth at 27-over, followed by host Furman and Florida State tying for fifth at 30-over.
