ATLANTA--Georgia State's Charlotte Lorentzen was named Colonial Athletic Association Golfer of the Week after capturing individual medalist honors at the Hurricane Invitational.
Playing in wind gusts of 35-40 miles per hour, Lorentzen fired a final round 73 on the par 71 layout at Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club in Miami, Fla., leading the Panthers to a third-place finish in the team standings.
Lorentzen's victory is her third tournament title in six events this year and the fourth win of her career.
The senior from Soroe, Denmark birdied her final hole, sinking a 15-foot putt on the par-four third hole to post the lowest score of the day and finish one stroke ahead of Ginger Mak of James Madison. Lorentzen, the No. 40-ranked individual in the nation, played the three rounds at six-over-par 219.
Lorentzen, the two-time conference Player of the Year, earns CAA weekly or monthly honors for the fourth time this year and the 11th time in her career.
