Stockbridge, Ga.--After two rounds of play at the 19th annual John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate women's golf tournament at Eagles Landing Country Club, East Tennessee State leads the team competition by three strokes, and ETSU's Sian Evans holds the individual lead at five-under par.

Host Georgia State struggled on day one of its annual tournament, and the Panthers stand in ninth place, five strokes behind eighth-place Murray State and 23 shots off the lead. After shooting 311 in the first round, the Panthers did improve by 14 strokes in the second round with a 297 for a two-round total of 608.

A bright spot for the No. 68-ranked Panthers was the play of senior Charlotte Guilleux, who had rounds of 74 and 73 to stand at three-over for the tournament and tied for ninth place.

GSU senior Charlotte Lorentzen, the top-ranked individual in the field at No. 41 in the nation, had an uncharacteristic showing today, shooting 79 and 77.

Sophomore Laura Sanchez posted Georgia State's top round of the day with an even-par 72 on her second 18, after recovering from a disappointing first-round 87.

Panther freshman Lauren Court of Lawrenceville, Ga., carded a 75 in Monday's second round.

East Tennessee State shot 296-289 for a 36-hole total of 585 (+9), three shots better than Maryland (588) and seven strokes ahead of Mississippi State (592) and Campbell (592).

ETSU's Evans shot 70 in the Monday's first round and then fired a 67 in round two, just one stroke off the tournament record for low round of 66, set by two players in last year's event. She leads teammate Gabriella Wahl by one shot and Blaire Minter of Western Carolina and Ally McDonald of Mississippi State by two shots.

The John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate concludes with 18 holes Tuesday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Admission is free, and spectators are welcome. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com.
